Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s song Zaroori Tha from his hit album Back 2 Love, has broken the record of being the most downloaded song on mobile phones in Pakistan.
The feat should not come as a surprise to Rahat, given the fact that the song was crafted with such finesse and expertise.
Zaroori Tha has made the prestigious song of becoming the most downloaded song across Pakistan, on mobile phones. Zaroori Tha‘s lyrics tell the tale of two lovers who were once captivated by each other until they broke up. Years later after moving on, both lovers cross each other’s paths and upon meeting again are reminded regarding the affection they had towards each other. After giving each other a cold shoulder, both lovers reunite in the end and embrace each other lovingly, unable to contain their impassioned feelings.
Speaking exclusively to ARY News, the legendary singer thanked Haji Sahab and Salman Iqbal for their continued support for his album Back to Love. Answering a question, Rahat also stated that he was about to embark on a tour to America and Canada where he would do something new for the audience which had never been done before. He also gave credit to his brother Salman Ahmad for selecting the song Zaroori Tha. Lastly, he also revealed the good news of an impending album which will feature Punjabi songs. Not revealing much, the soulful singer commented that the album would be released soon.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is the nephew of legendary Qawal Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He was personally tutored by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Rahat has notable achievements to his name, with multiple hit albums and a global fan following. He also sings Ghazals apart from Qawwali and has recently started singing Bollywood songs for which he has garnered critical acclaim and praise. Some of his famous Bollywood songs include Teri Meri, Main Tenu Samjhawan, Tere Mast Mast Do Nain and O Re Piya. His 2014 album Back 2 Love also featured a collaboration with renowned female playback singer Shriya Goshal.
